Ryuichi Miki Wiki

Ryuichi Miki is Japanese MMA fighter from Saitama, Japan. Miki was born on March 19, 1993. He has a background in karate and during his high school youth, he began training at the Shooto Dojo GUTSMAN.

Miki made his amateur MMA debut by participating in the 2004 Japan Amateur Shooto Bantamweight Championship where he made it to the semifinal where he was eliminated losing a fight by unanimous decision.

Miki made his professional mixed martial arts career on July 14, 2005 losing a unanimous decision to Masaaki Sugawara in Shooto where he’s fought for almost his entire career.

Miki became the Shooto Bantamweight (126 lbs) World champion by defeating Yosuke Saruta in a rematch after their prior draw. Miki next made his first appearance outside of Shooto to participate in VTJ's Flyweight tournament. He defeated Yoshiro Maeda in the quarterfinals in a highly entertaining back and forth bout.

Miki's next tournament fight would be a semifinal bout against Czar Sklavos at VTJ 5th in Osaka on June 28, 2014. Miki would lose the fight via unanimous decision, bringing an end to his tournament aspirations.

The loss to Sklavos would be the start of a three fight skid for Miki. He would drop his next fight to Tatsumitsu Wada at DEEP DREAM Impact: Omisoka Special on December 31, 2014. He would lose the fight via rear naked choke.

Miki would then suffer his third straight fight after being defeated by Masaaki Sugawara at Mobstyles: 15th Anniversary Fight and Mosh on May 3, 2015. Miki would lose by a majority decision.
