Isaac Vallie-Flagg was born 8 April, 1978 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA. Flagg began practicing Jiujitsu after seeing a UFC event on TV. This eventually led to his career in MMA.
Flagg is currently fighting out of Albuquerque, New Mexico with Jackson's Mixed Martial Arts, in the UFC Lightweight Division. Flagg has also competed in Strikeforce and King of the Cage. Before the Strikeforce organization folded Flagg held a 2-0 record with that promotion.

Flagg made his Strikeforce debut against Brian Melancon at Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum winning the bout via split decision.

Flagg was scheduled to face Bobby Green at Strikeforce Challengers: Britt vs. Sayers, but he pulled out of the bout on 11 November, 2011.

Flagg next faced Gesias Cavalcante at Strikeforce: Barnett vs. Cormier. He won the fight via split decision.

Flagg was scheduled to face Adriano Martins at Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Healy. However on 23 September, 2012 it was announced that the event was cancelled due to an injury to headliner Gilbert Melendez.

Following the dissolution of Strikeforce, Flagg was brought over to the UFC. In his debut, he faced Yves Edwards on 2 February , 2013 at UFC 156. He won the fight split decision.

Flagg was expected to face Sam Stout on 15 June, 2013 at UFC 161. However, Flagg was forced out with a back injury and was replaced by James Krause.

Flagg faced Elias Silverio on 15 January, 2014 at UFC Fight Night 35. He lost the fight via unanimous decision.

Flagg was briefly linked to a bout with Danny Castillo on 26 April, 2014 at UFC 172. However, the UFC removed Flagg from the bout in favour of a match up with Takanori Gomi. He lost the fight via unanimous decision. Despite the loss on the scorecards, Flagg was awarded his first Fight of the Night bonus award for the bout.
